Drug Details
CORDILOX 160
Drug class Description :
Calcium-channel blockers (class I calcium antagonists).
Generic Name :
Verapamil - hypertension
Drug description :
160 mg yellow f-c tablets marked CORDILOX 160.
Presentation :
Tablets, verapamil hydrochloride 160mg .
Indications :
Mild to moderate hypertension.
Adult Dosage :
1 twice daily.
Child Dosage :
Up to 10 mg/kg body-weight daily Up to 10 mg/kg body-weight daily in divided doses.
Contra Indications :
Cardiogenic shock. 2nd or 3rd degree AV block. Severe bradycardia, sick-sinus syndrome. Uncompensated cardiac failure.
Special Precautions :
1st degree AV block. Poor cardiac reserve should be controlled with digitalis and diuretics. Hepatic or renal impairment. Acute phase of myocardial infarction. Bradycardia, conduction disturbances, hypotension.
Interactions :
b-blockers, quinidine or digoxin, grapefruit juice.
Adverse Reactions :
Constipation, flushes, headache, dizziness, fatigue.
